CHILDRENS MINISTRY DIRECTOR Employment Status : Full Time salaried exempt employee. Supervisor : Lead Pastor Position Summary: North Bible is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as our Childrens Ministry Pastor or Director. We are looking for a leader who passionately loves Jesus, families, and children. Our ideal candidate will have the heart, experience, and skill set to equip children and families to be fully devoted disciple-making disciples of Jesus. About North: North Bible Church is a 20-year-old non-denominational family of believers in Christ. Our current mission expression is to love God, love one another and love the world. We believe we are called as a church to be a movement of Holy Spirit empowered believers who are growing in our faith and living on mission for Jesus Christ and His kingdom. North Bible strives to equip every generation to love God, love one another and love the world, one life and one home at a time. Our desire is to develop people whose lives are characterized by celebrative worship, continual growth, cooperative servanthood, commitment to community, and contagious Christianity. Purpose : Provide leadership and oversight to all related responsibilities of the birth through fifth grade ministry, and to help equip parents to be the primary spiritual leaders in their homes. General Responsibilities: Agreement and Alignment with the statement of faith and vision of North Bible Church. Considers North Bible Church their church home, and regularly attends Sunday worship services, activities, events, and is connected in and invested in the North community. Being an invested and committed team member of the North Bible staff who participates in all necessary staff meetings and activities. Meet regularly with your supervisor for encouragement, feedback, and planning. Good balance of onsite hours and responsibilities with offsite tasks and relationships. Fulfillment of other duties or needs as assigned by supervisor. North Kids Responsibilities Provide vision, leadership, and spiritual equipping for the children, parents and families at North that aligns with and executes the overall vision of North Bible Church Prioritize the needs and relationships of the families of North while strategically reaching and connecting with unbelieving/unchurched families in our surrounding community. Daily management and decision making for the North Childrens ministry. Develop, biblically vet, adapt, oversee and evaluate all the teaching content, curriculum, and environments to accomplish the goals and objectives of the childrens ministry. Help children and families take next steps of growth (profession of faith, baptism, connection into North, serving, etc.) Recruit, equip, oversee, schedule, and invest in a strong volunteer team that serves the needs of Norths children and families. Design, implement, oversee, manage, and improve upon ministry programming, offerings, teaching and staffing for Sunday mornings. Create and manage safe, fun, welcoming, clean, creative, caring, and vibrant environments and opportunities for children to experience God, learn about the love of Christ and build relationships with others. Develop and oversee an annual budget for the childrens ministry and operate within that budget, as well as oversee, organize, and steward all childrens ministry resources. Develop, plan, and execute an annual calendar and ministry plan for the childrens ministry in cooperation with the other calendared North plans and events. Design, plan, prepare, and recruit for special events and experiences that reach and grow children and families in Christ (Ideas/examples: VBS, Father/daughter dance, Mother/Son event, Family movie night, picnics, egg hunt, trunk or treat, community engagement opportunities, etc.) Develop, utilize, and improve upon systems and tools to help recruit, oversee, engage, and communicate with children, parents and those who serve in the childrens ministry. Keep current with trends, needs, and tools that impact children and families. Partner with parents in supporting them with the spiritual formation of their children (resources, classes, child dedications, baptisms, intergenerational opportunities) Regular evaluation and implementation of safety policies and practices for children. Weekly communication to parents and volunteers related to schedules, curriculum and other events, opportunities and needs. Help kids with special abilities to be successful in the North Kids ministry environments by partnering with parents and making appropriate accommodations. Find, manage, and staff for any church childcare needs. Collaborate with assigned staff on providing social media posts and online resources Collaborate with the youth ministry leadership to help with a smooth transition from childrens ministry to youth ministry. Personal Qualifications: A follower of Jesus Christ who is fluent in the Gospel with themselves and others. Strong commitment to personal spiritual health and growth in your relationship with Jesus Healthy prioritization in your life with Jesus, family, friends, church, and your community. Living a life of biblical integrity, faithfulness, and wisdom in all areas of your life. Demonstrates healthy relationships, communication, and interpersonal skills. A passion for children and families and a strong drive to help strengthen their faith in Christ and become a disciple-making disciple. Intuitive to needs around them, especially that which relates to children and families. Believes parents are the primary spiritual formation equipper in the life of a child. A working understanding of child development and family dynamics, and especially how it relates spiritually. A proven ability to work well with children, parents, volunteers and staff team-members. Able to offer counsel, guidance and care to children and parents. Able to recruit, train and develop volunteers and teams. Is a self-starter who takes initiative for their areas of responsibility. Is a team player, who values collaboration and helping serve those they work with. Is skilled in teaching, planning, organizing, delegating, communication, managing, flexibility, conflict resolution, equipping and encouraging others, Good verbal and written communication and computer/technology literate. At least two years of experience leading children and families in a church setting, preferably a medium to large church. Education or training in theology and childrens education or related field preferred.
